Internal and External Collaboration Using SP Online – Lessons Learned from DIA and IR BT

In this session: We will look at the use of SharePoint Online as a collaborative tool. Focusing particularly on the challenges but also what worked well to empower users. We will also look at some governance challenges particularly with MS teams and different approaches to address this. We will also have a discussion at the end of the session to share ideas and learn from each other.

Inland Revenue BT

Inland Revenue (IR) is currently in the midst of a multi-year, multi-stage change programme delivering business transformation (BT). The programme uses SharePoint to support the approximately 2000 users within 60 sites.
BT uses SharePoint Online and JIRA as its collaborative tools to run its key programme processes like Risks and Issues, Scope Management and Change Control.

With Microsoft moving towards a model of empowering users to work the way they want; how do government departments ensure information is appropriately secured and managed? During this session we’ll cover challenges and learnings from Te Tari Taiwhenua, Department of Internal Affairs’ experience implementing secure external collaboration using SharePoint Online – with a particular focus on information and records management.
