Robots will take our jobs…but we’ll be ok – overcoming Technostress

Technology has helped to develop our world in more ways than we could imagine. From the introduction of smartphones to robots working in warehouses, there are endless ways in which life simply wouldn’t be the same without technology. However, for all the benefits that technology can bring, there’s also a darker side. It can affect our physical and mental wellbeing, having a detrimental impact on our daily lives.
With more pressure to be productive, higher expectations, and less time for work, technology can become incredibly stressful, and the more that staff are expected to use it, the more stressful it will become. And if that’s not enough, we have to contend with robots coming to take our jobs! Increasingly, it leads to the phenomenon called technostress –  the stress and negative psychological impacts directly related to the use and adoption of new technologies.
During this session I’ll tell a story that began 300 years ago and illustrates why we’ll still be working, even if the jobs won’t be the same.
I’ll then close with some tips on how to overcome technostress
We’ll be alright, really.
